From SJU airport to Condado Lagoon

The airport is 8.8 km from Condado Lagoon in a straight line, the farthest starting point in the table. The DTOP route listing shows AMA bus D53 (San Juan / Aeropuerto) with this stop sequence towards San Juan: Aeropuerto, Ave. Isla Verde, Calle Loiza, Ultimo Trolley, Ave. McLeary, Ave. Ashford, Ave. Condado, Centro de Convenciones, Carril exclusivo del Tren, San Juan. Avenida Ashford is the lagoon's own avenue, so get off there.

Per the same listing, D53 runs from 6:00 AM on weekdays, Saturdays and holidays, with the last trip at 8:11 PM on weekdays and 8:00 PM on Saturdays and holidays, at intervals of 67 minutes on weekdays and 55 minutes on Saturdays and holidays. With luggage or a kayak start time to keep, a taxi or app rideshare from the arrivals kerb is the usual choice. Ask for Laguna del Condado, not Condado beach.

From Old San Juan to Condado Lagoon on foot or by bus

Plaza de Armas is 4.0 km from Condado Lagoon in a straight line. The walk leaves the old city eastwards, follows Avenida Ashford over Puente Dos Hermanos, which spans the mouth of the lagoon 0.6 km in a straight line from its centre point. The route is on city avenues the whole way, with no hills between the old city and the bridge.

Two AMA routes list Avenida Ashford in their stop sequence on the DTOP page: D53 (San Juan / Aeropuerto, described above) and T21 (Plaza Las Americas / San Juan), whose San Juan to Plaza Las Americas direction runs San Juan, Carril exclusivo del Tren, Ave. Ashford, Ave. Magdalena, Ave. Jose de Diego and onwards. DTOP lists T21 at 30-minute intervals on weekdays, 35 on Saturdays and 60 on holidays. Both list San Juan as their end stop on the DTOP page.

From Isla Verde to Condado Lagoon

Isla Verde is 5.9 km east of Condado Lagoon in a straight line. Bus D53 covers exactly this corridor: Ave. Isla Verde, Calle Loiza, Ultimo Trolley, Ave. McLeary and then Ave. Ashford, so any stop on Avenida Isla Verde works. A taxi or app rideshare follows the same coastal avenues. Hotels in Isla Verde are also within the pickup zone of the catamaran day sail listed at the end of this page.

From the cruise piers to Condado Lagoon

San Juan has 2 cruise areas. The Old San Juan piers (Pier 4 is 3.3 km from Condado Lagoon) sit at the foot of the old city, and from there the route to the lagoon is the same Dos Hermanos walk or a taxi from the rank outside the terminal. The Pan American Pier on Isla Grande is closer, 1.8 km from the lagoon, on the same Isla Grande as the Convention Center.

Pier 4 to the lagoon is 3.3 km in a straight line and the road route is longer, so book a start time that leaves margin before all-aboard. Distances here are straight lines, so allow for the road route, which is longer on both sides.

Taxi and rideshare to Condado Lagoon

Taxis and app-based rideshares serve SJU airport, both cruise areas and every Condado hotel. Fares are set by the operator or shown in the app before you confirm, so this page does not quote any. Tell the driver Laguna del Condado, or the landmark named on your voucher: Parque Laguna del Condado (0.5 km from the lagoon point) or Puente Dos Hermanos (0.6 km). Condado beach is on the opposite, Atlantic side of Avenida Ashford.
