Where you meet the operator
Almost every kayak and SUP operator launches from the public dock by Puente Dos Hermanos on Ashford Avenue. You walk in, find the company sign or kiosk, and they hand you a vest and a waiver.
If you booked through Viator, your voucher tells you the exact meeting time. Plan to be there ten minutes early. There is street parking on the side roads and a paid lot on Ashford.

Gear they give you
A life vest, a paddle, the kayak or SUP, and a quick safety briefing. Some companies add a dry bag for your phone and reef-safe sunscreen. If you want a waterproof case for photos, bring your own to be safe.
Wear swimwear under a quick-dry layer. Flip-flops are fine but water shoes are better. Hat and sunglasses are not provided.
How the briefing works
The guide walks you through how to sit, how to paddle, and how to steer. With a kayak this takes three minutes. With a SUP, expect ten because you also learn how to stand up from kneeling.
You stay close to the dock for the first lap. Once they see you can paddle, you head out. Most tours stay within sight of the dock.
What you will see
The lagoon is bordered by mangroves on one side and Ashford Avenue hotels on the other. Look down and you will see sea grass, tarpon, sometimes a manatee surfacing.

After the tour
You return the gear at the dock and grab a shower if your operator offers one. Most do not, so plan to head back to your hotel still wet.
