Condado Beach + Lagoon Combo Day
Condado has two waters worth your time: the Atlantic-facing Condado Beach and the protected Condado Lagoon. They are a five-minute walk apart and they pair perfectly into one full day.
This is the half-day plan that gets you both.
Morning beach (8:00 to 11:00 AM)
Start at Condado Beach east of the Puente Dos Hermanos. The water is calmer in the morning and the sun is lower. Bring a small bag with sunscreen, water, and a towel.
Public access points are on Ashford Avenue near most major hotels. The beach is free, with public bathrooms at the boardwalk.

Brunch at Ashford Avenue (11:00 AM to 12:30 PM)
Ashford Avenue is lined with cafes serving Puerto Rican brunch. Look for mofongo, mallorca breakfast sandwich, or a simple cafe con leche and pastry.
Most spots are walk-in friendly mid-week. Reserve for weekends. Allow ninety minutes if you want to relax.
Lagoon kayak or SUP (12:30 to 2:00 PM)
Walk five minutes to the public dock at Puente Dos Hermanos. Pick up your kayak or SUP rental booked ahead.
Paddle the lagoon for one hour. Calm water, easy on a full belly. Look for tarpon under the bridge.
Old San Juan walk (2:30 to 5:00 PM)
If you want a third leg, take a five-dollar Uber from Condado to Old San Juan. Walk the colonial streets, see Castillo San Cristobal, grab a cold drink in Plaza Colon.
Skip if you are paddled out and prefer a pool nap. Both are valid choices.
Sunset kayak return (5:30 to 7:00 PM)
Optional cap: book the sunset kayak tour back at the lagoon. Different experience than the midday paddle. Worth doing as a separate booking.
Most operators offer a combo discount if you book midday plus sunset together. Ask at the dock.
Condado Beach and Condado Lagoon are a natural pairing. Hit the beach early, brunch on Ashford, paddle the lagoon, then choose between Old San Juan or a sunset kayak return. You can do all three waters in one San Juan day without rushing.
